From February 10 – 12, 2016, GDS – Global Destination for Shoes & Accessories, will again be the meeting point for the sector, offering exciting collections, a comprehensive trend program and fresh inspiration for retailers.

As an impulse-generating event for the Autumn/Winter 2016 season, GDS offers more than 800 brands a platform to present their new collections and highlights to an international audience at the fairgrounds in Düsseldorf, Germany. Inspired by major shopping capitals, the STUDIO, HIGHSTREET and POP UP lifestyle worlds reflect the entire range from urban and hip labels and modern to classic styles to Premium shoe fashions.

New at GDS
The HIGHSTREET segment awaits visitors with an exciting newcomer: with its participation Timberland underlines the international importance of GDS. In addition, returning exhibitors include Lottusse in the STUDIO segment and G-STAR in the POP UP area. In the high-end premium segment STUDIO, new brands such as Oliver Sweeney, La Bottega di Lisa, Miista, Esseutesse and Roy Robson will showcase their collections. Accessories by Mur86phy as well as bags from Philipp-Lacquer and Another Bag will enhance the STUDIO area.

Newcomers in the HIGHSTREET area will include Lyle&Scott, Rockland, Franzini and Via Scarpa. In the accessories segment, Street Level will present trendy bag styles. The Kids segment will include collections by Shoesme, Shoo Pom, Shwik and Move by Melton. EMU Australia Kids will participate for the first time with their own stand. Group Royer will showcase collections by Kickers Kids, Astaire, Mod‘8 and Robeez in the Kids Area. New brands in the POP UP Area will be Ten Points und NEWFS.

Trends @ GDS
In addition to its inspiring collection range, GDS will also feature a comprehensive trend line-up and the trend theme will again be impressively staged on the Highlight Route. The "Digital Craft” motif – which at the last GDS focused on 3D technologies – will now be consistently further developed for February 2016. With the "Fusion of Digital and Real Life Shop Experience” motto, the analogue and digital world are brought together in a meaningful way and topics such as "Sustainable Materials” and "Wearables” will be addressed.

The GDS Fashion Shows and shows of individual brands featured in Hall 10 will provide live information on seasonal looks, complemented by the Trend Spots in Hall 5 with comprehensive insights into the seasonal trends for 2016. Forum Touch will serve as a comprehensive information pool for textures and surfaces.

New collections and a unique ancillary program will provide retailers with broad-based information on the latest innovations in the footwear sector.  "Information and inspiration are the perfect way for retailers to kick off the new season and order period. Fashion Bloggers
In cooperation with the online fashion magazine styleranking, GDS will again feature the FashionBloggerCafé „shoedition". After Maja Wyh, Alice M. Huynh and Nina Schwichtenberg alias Fashiioncarpet, a new fashion blogger will be chosen for the February 2016 GDS to review the latest shoe and accessories trends. At the Blogger Runway Show this blogger along with four other bloggers will showcase unique looks. At the FashionBloggerCafé fashion bloggers meet to network, attend lectures related to blogging and take part in the varied program at the action stands.

tag it! – The Private Label Show
One date, one city, two trade shows. Held parallel with GDS again will be tag it! – The Private Label Show. In hall 1, manufacturers from Asia will present their collections particularly geared towards international shoe and accessories retailers with focus on sourcing and private label productions. tag it! will provide a unique platform for contacts with key volume buyers from traditional and emerging markets.

GDS Dates in 2016
The February GDS and tag it! events will run as usual from Wednesday to Friday. Starting with the July events, new show days will apply: from Tuesday to Thursday (July 26 – 28) in order to avoid Friday, one of the highest earning days in retail.
