NEW DESIGNS FOR GDS AND GLOBAL SHOES 2012

The upcoming GDS 2012 - International Event for Shoes & Accessories, will present itself more modern and elegant from March 14 – 16, 2012 at the fairgrounds in Düsseldorf, Germany. With the motto "Inspiration to Go”, the entire image of GDS has been re-designed and visually adapted. Within the eleven themed worlds, the white cubes segment with its progressive premium high-fashion labels has also re-invented itself to address a selected audience. Stand design has become more high-end, giving exhibitors an even better setting for their products. New surfaces, exquisite lighting and flooring with a contemporary concrete look perfectly combine formal aesthetics and functionality. "With our new trade fair design and the white cubes facelift we are also showing in visual terms that we are the trendsetter and pioneer for an entire industry. The preparations for the forthcoming GDS and GLOBAL SHOES events are going very smoothly and we are well prepared to welcome the international shoe sector when it gets together in Düsseldorf this March,” explained GDS Project Director Kirstin Deutelmoser.

GDS to feature New Designers and Brands

GDS 2012 will feature numerous new exhibitors, such as Benson Shoes, Via Roma, Dumond, Piedi Nudi, Aerosoles and Barefooters. Showing their products for the first time in the premium segment will be Jo Ghost, Kenzo, Paul & Joe/Berthier, Santoni Club/Vestitus and Ducanero. Another premiere will be the shoe collection of fashion designer Michael Michalsky displayed at GDS in the white cubes area. In the Urban area, exhibitors such as Nickelson, Panama Jack, PLDM by Palladium, Shepherd, Coqueterra, Moonboot by Tecnica, Hi-Tec, Les Tropeziennes par M Belarbi, Trifoglio and Umber will make their debut. The Kids segment will also include first-time exhibitors such as Lea Lelo and Aster.

Design Attack

Another highlight will be the hip "Design Attack” area in Hall 3, this time with the circus theme "Chikki Mikki". Around 100 young designers will present their unusual collections in a circus setting complete with a circus rink and trailers.

"Brit Edition" in Hall 4

The "Brit Edition" in Hall 4 will all be about selected British designs. Newcomers such as Australia Luxe Collective, Base London, Cocorose, Fury Sweden, Jean-Michel Cazabat, Joseph Cheaney Shoes, Julian Hakes, Red by Wolves and The Jacksons will showcase their collections in the premium area in cooperation with BFA - the British Footwear Association.

Overall, more than 800 exhibitors from over 30 countries are expected to participate in GDS 2012, presenting their latest shoe, bag and accessories collections for the 2012/13 Autumn/Winter season. The spectrum will range from design newcomers and widely accepted brands in the market to kids' fashion. Featuring over 1,800 collections, the event will provide trade visitors from throughout the world with a comprehensive overview - from the classic and progressive prime fashion segment to the fast-moving colorful world of sports and denim items. An extensive program of ancillary events such as catwalk shows, seminars and lectures will complement the exhibits.

GLOBAL SHOES – Leading Trade Fair for Sourcing

As an international marketplace, GLOBAL SHOES 2012 - leading trade show for sourcing, will also present itself with a new design. With the motto "shoe fashion all along the line" this platform for OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturers) and high-volume suppliers will feature a multi-faceted range of shoes and leather goods for the volume market.
